Pangasinan Road Trip 1: A Jump Start

by: Mhe-anne L. Ojeda

I jump start the new decade by hitting the road to and around Pangasinan, Philippines.

The province of Pangasinan ( meaning "a place of salt" or "where salt is made" ) is easy to get to, convenient and packed with places to explore. Located on the west central area of the island of Luzon, Pangasinan is subdivided into 44 municipalities, 4 cities, 1,364 barangay, and 6 congressional districts. The capital of Pangasinan is Lingayen.

Today, begins my month-long, weekly road trips to and around the province, visiting its capital Lingayen and the neighboring cities of Dagupan, Urdaneta, and San Carlos. I will also take a scenic tour and drive along the municipalities of Bayambang,Binmaley,Calasiao,Rosales, Almaninos City, Sual, Basista, ,and Sta Barbara.
