My whole family drove down once again to Subic for an all out support for Reid and the Kelly Benefit Strategies cycling team as they raced in the Stage 8 of the Tour of Luzon 2010. The Stage is a 10km circuit around the Subic airport loop with a 10km summit finish. Only Reid and two team mates David Veilleux, wearing the yellow jersey and Chene Hoag will be seeing action as Ryan Anderson, Guy East and Jesse Anthony flew to Singapore last night for the OCBC Cycle Singapore.
As Reid's and KBS super fans (or better still an adopted family according to Reid), we are all wearing green and yellow t-shirts, had the banner in front of the van and chose a nice location for the race. It was great to see them in action and anxious to find them in the lead in each lap.
We felt sad to see Reid dropped off at the 5th lap as he chased a close rival from South Africa. He finished 23rd for the Stage (David 5th) and dropped down to 9 overall. For us though, Reid is still number one! Go go go Reid!!
